SAP SuccessFactors: Reporting gaps for recruiting teams

Deep dive Updated 31 Mar 2026 5 min read

The bottom line:

SAP SuccessFactors is built for HR compliance and employee lifecycle management. Its recruiting module handles requisitions and applicant tracking, but reporting, outbound sourcing, and candidate evaluation are not its focus.

HR-first, not recruiting-first

SAP SuccessFactors prioritizes payroll, performance management, and compliance. Recruiting is one module among many, and the reporting reflects that. Specific gaps:

  • Missing recruiting data: Report Stories does not support data from Recruiting Marketing or Recruiting Posting modules.
  • No historical trending: Reports show current-state snapshots. Tracking funnel conversion rates over time requires manual exports or external BI tools.
  • No time-in-stage reporting: One of the most basic recruiting metrics for identifying pipeline bottlenecks is not available natively.

What recruiters miss

Beyond reporting, SAP SuccessFactors has no outbound sourcing capability. Recruiters depend entirely on inbound applicants or external sourcing tools. Users have also documented issues with automated notifications, such as interview confirmation emails not sending when candidates self-schedule.

How Mokka complements SAP

Mokka adds the recruiting intelligence layer that SAP lacks.

  • Outbound sourcing: Find candidates from 850M+ profiles and 250+ job boards instead of waiting for inbound applications.
  • Structured pre-interviews: Candidates complete structured AI pre-interviews via text, voice, or video. Mokka generates scored evaluations with evidence, not keyword matches.
  • Integrity verification: Automated checks validate candidate claims before they reach your hiring managers.

SAP stays your system of record. Mokka sources, screens, and scores candidates so recruiters spend time on people, not reports.
